About Us

Willow Tree Home Learning provides holistic home education for our family, and shares our learning inspiration with others.

We are a home educating family creating a gentle, creative, and nature-connected way of learning together.

Willow Tree Home Learning grew from our desire to build an education that feels safe, meaningful, and responsive to our child’s needs. After a very difficult experience with school, we stepped away from formal education and began to rebuild learning in a way that prioritises trust, connection, and wellbeing.

At the heart of our approach is the belief that children learn best when they feel secure, curious, and free to explore at their own pace. Our days are shaped by real life: time outdoors, shared experiences, creative projects, books, conversation, and following interests as they emerge naturally.

We don’t separate learning into rigid blocks or force it into a fixed timetable. Instead, we take inspiration from the six Areas of Learning and Experience within the Curriculum for Wales, weaving literacy, numeracy, science, creativity, and wellbeing into everyday life in a way that feels connected and purposeful.

Our home education journey is also deeply influenced by nature and slow living. We believe that time outside, seasonal rhythms, and hands-on exploration are just as important as formal skills. Learning happens in forests, on walks, in kitchens, through stories, and in quiet everyday moments.

The name “Blossom” is our daughter’s public nickname, chosen to protect her privacy while allowing us to share parts of our journey honestly and safely.

Willow Tree is not a rigid programme or a set curriculum — it is a living, evolving approach to learning as a family. One rooted in patience, connection, and the belief that education can be both gentle and deeply rich.
